Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek is a Mexican-American actress born to Syrian-Lebanese parents. She was born into an affluent Roman Catholic family from Mexico. When she was a little girl, she saw the movie 'Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory' was on the screen. When she attended Mexico City's "Universidad Iberoamericana," she was ready to join the field of film. In the Mexican television show 'Teresa' she had her debut as an actor. In Hollywood she was chosen to play Antonio Banderas' co-star in the film 'Desperado. After that, came roles in "Fools Rush In" and "Wild Wild West" and "Wild Wild West" among others. The actress reprised her character from 'Desperado' in 'Once There was a Time in Mexico' and later started her own production company "Ventanarosa.' Her first production was the Mexican film, 'El coronel no Tien Quien Escriba in which she became Mexico's official entry at the Oscars in the Best Foreign Film category. The production she was the executive producer of "Ugly Betty" was a different accomplishment. The role she played in the role of Sofia Reyes in 'Ugly Betty earned her an award for 'Outstanding Guest Actress in an Comedy Series' at the 60th 'Primetime Emmy Awards.' Some of her endorsements are Revlon and Avon along with Nuance's line of hair, skincare, and cosmetics, Nuance.
